Barbara Blake Couchman 73, of Clifton Park passed away suddenly June 22, 2013.
Barbara was born in Maryland, a daughter to the late Francis and Josephine Stillwell Blake.
She attended the University of Maryland, as an Art major, where she met the love of her life, Robert S. Couchman, who she was married to for 54 years. She later attended SUNY Albany majoring in Math.
Barbara and Robert were long time members of Grace Lutheran Church in Niskayuna, where they were very active and Barbara was a member of the choir. An artist at heart she created beauty through her painting, wood working, pottery and gardening. First and foremost she was a loving and devoted wife and mother whose life centered on her family.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband Robert; her daughter Beth LaBarge and her husband Michael of Clifton Park and her son Robert H. Couchman of Clifton Park; grandchildren Rebecca, Adam and Matthew LaBarge. Also survived by 1 niece and 3 nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Josephine Monson and Betty Bourke.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Services will be held at a later date for family.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Barbara to the Alzheimer's Association.
