Fred R. Longe

Fred R. Longe 80, of Niskayuna, passed away after a brief illness at Albany Medical Center on Friday, March 22, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Fred was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Frank and Marie Pisano Longe. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed on the USS Dixie. Upon his honorable discharge, he received his Accounting degree from Albany Business College.
Fred worked for the US Postal Service, out of the Heritage Station in Schenectady where he retired from in 1988.
"Freddie" was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathleen Pach Longe; loving father of Michael Longe, Gregory Longe, Alesia (David) LeVrier and David Longe. Also survived by his brother Frank Longe and 4 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. There will be no calling hours. Entombment with Military honors will follow the Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
