Sally Thomas Eggers

Niskayuna – Sally Thomas Eggers, 85, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.

Sally was born in Ballston Spa, New York on June 5th 1939 to Allen and Betty Thomas. She grew up on Lake Lonely in Saratoga Springs, New York and graduated from Saratoga High School in 1957.

The next four years she spent at Wheaton College in Norton, MA graduating with high honors with a degree in psychology and a minor in education.

While taking courses to obtain a masters in education she taught in LaFayette and Ballston Spa, New York, finally ending up in Niskayuna at Rosendale Elementary School. She taught there for over 25 years, retiring in 2004.

Sally is predeceased by her husband, Manfred Eggers. She is survived by her son, James Thomas Brooking (Bethany McElroy) of Burlington, Vermont, her daughter Michelle Cuscino (Richard Cuscino) of Clifton Park, New York, two granddaughters, Sarah (Jacob Reed) and Courtney, and her sister Susan Buzzee (Wayne Buzzee) of East Hampton, MA.

Her retirement years were filled with travel and gardening with her longtime companion, Ray Burns.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the family plot in the Ballston Spa Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Sally’s memory may be made to Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinsons P.O. Box 270948 Louisville, CO 80027. davisphinneyfoundation.org
